Legacy Gift - Canada Foundation

A Foundation can help if your organisation is anticipating a legacy gift but does not wish to enter into an ongoing membership relationship with the Foundation. An application needs to be submitted but no membership fee is required. There is a processing fee before for the first donation. There is a 3% retention fee on donations received.

Once payment of the processing fee has been received, you will immediately be sent an email with the application form to complete. Please check your junk email folder if you cannot see the email after a few minutes.

In reviewing your application and conducting our due diligence, Chapel & York will review your application as appropriate to ensure your organisation is suitable to receive grants. In this process, Chapel & York makes no judgements as to the value of the work you do or the capacity of your organisation to do it. 

Once the application is approved by the Foundation, The Agent’s Agreement is dispatched to the organisation’s main contact. The organisation is given 2 weeks to complete and to sign the Agreement. The Executive Director then countersigns the Agent’s Agreement. Once the Agent’s Agreement is signed, you will receive a Knowledge Pack which includes some useful language you can share with donors when talking about your relationship with Chapel & York.
